Producers are particular individuals.

Contacting them can be have undesired effects.

This is largely in part to the fact that when contacting Producers, the artists, customers, and fans tend to enter a conversation in a non professional manner.

People need to realize this is a business, and the email and/or Phone number you are contacting is for business.

If you get straight to the point, and talk business first, then there opens up room for casual conversation afterward.

So if you intend on getting a response from a Producer, keep in mind that they are most likely contacted a lot, by non professional individuals, and it would be a breath of fresh air if you contact them with a goal in mind, and get straight to the point.

If you are finding your emails, calls and texts unanswered, rethink your approach and try again.

If you are a serious artist, you will be about your business, and keep it moving.

Professional minds think alike.

Very nicely put.  Producers are all about the business.  One must show respect to get respect, so have your game face on when contacting producers.  Being professional will show your determination and dedication to your craft.

Even though producers seem to have "laid-back" personalities, they should still be respected.  If you approach them inappropriately, it doesn't matter how good your beats are - they might not even want to listen.

My guess is that there are some incredibly talented people out there who sabotaged themselves from the beginning. Having confidence is one thing, but making assumptions about the other person's receptiveness is another.

There are some very cocky people out there.  I think cockiness is alright if you have something good to back you up.  Having that attitude and then sounding like crap is not going to get you anywhere.

This is some good advice here. I should have stopped here to read before posting in another thread earlier. I guess I should rethink my approach and just get down to business straight out. I was thinking that by conversing about topics other than music first would be better, but I can see how that would make me come off a sort of way to producers.
